More than 1,000 highway superintendents and their crews representing hundreds of towns, cities, villages, and counties across New York State gathered at the state fairgrounds Oct. 19 in Syracuse for the annual NYS Highway & Public Works Expo.

Attendees met with more than 100 dealers and factory representatives of every imaginable make and model of vocational truck, plows, and truck bodies manufactured for New York's snow removal and road maintenance.

A free lunch was provided for all guests, thanks to lunch sponsors Stadium International Trucks, Tracey Road Equipment, Trux Outfitter and Vantage Equipment.

A wide array of door prizes was awarded during the Expo, including grand prizes that included:

• Two tickets in the Jim Kelly Club to an upcoming Buffalo Bills home game, won by Mike Freeman, highway superintendent of the town of Philadelphia;

• Two tickets, including pit passes to the 2017 NASCAR race at Watkins Glen., won by both Jeff Card of the village of Corning highway department, and by Gene Dinsmore, highway superintendent of the town of Lysander.

Next year's annual NYS Highway & Public Works Expo will be held Oct. 18, 2017, at the Center of Progress Building on the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, N.Y. CEG
