HD Hyundai Construction Equipment North America announced the addition to its North America dealer network of Agri Center, Hutchinson, Kan.

The dealership will represent the full line of Hyundai construction equipment products throughout Kansas, with the exception of the Kansas City metro area and several counties in the northwestern and southeastern corners of the state.

Founded in 1952, Agri Center has focused exclusively on sales and service of agricultural equipment and off-road vehicles. Its dealership agreement with Hyundai represents the company's entry into the construction equipment business.

"We have considered adding a construction equipment line for a while, and decided that Hyundai is the best fit for both Agri Center and our customers," said Lee File, general manager and co-owner of Agri Center.

"In addition to a broad product line, Hyundai machines incorporate industry-leading systems and components like Cummins engines and ZF axles and transmissions. We're also impressed with the cab designs and the attention Hyundai has given to operator comfort. And the industry-leading Hyundai warranties are important to our customers."

File became co-owner of Agri Center in 2014, joining long-time owner W.J. Wilbeck. File said the majority of its current customers are in the cattle industry, where he expects to find demand for Hyundai wheel loaders and compact excavators. Agri Center will begin focusing on traditional construction equipment markets gradually.

"We take a crawl, walk, run approach to entering new markets," File explained. "We want to ramp up our people's knowledge of the equipment and applications, and we want to manage our growth to control and maintain high-quality customer service. With the support we get from Hyundai, we'll be running before you know it."

Ed Harseim, district manager of Hyundai, said, "Hyundai is happy to add Agri Center to our dealer network. Building on its long history of success as an ag equipment dealer, Agri Center is ready to apply its customer-centered approach to selling and supporting Hyundai construction equipment."
