Cowin Equipment Company recently expanded its staff at the Mableton (Atlanta), Ga., branch with the addition of Alan Wilbert, as rental sales representative. Wilbert started his career in construction equipment sales and rentals in 1997 when he joined US Rentals/United Rentals.

“I started out in this business working the counter and then had a rather rapid opportunity to move into outside rental sales. We had an outside sales representative leave the company and I was handed the keys to the truck and was told to go rent something. My training consisted of whatever I learned working the counter and a mandate to just go out there and do it” stated Wilbert.

After several years with United Rentals, Wilbert went on to work with Yancey Bros. Co. and Volvo Rents in outside rental sales in the Atlanta metro market primarily working with grading and pipeline contractors for their rental needs.

“I prefer the hands-on approach of being on the job site, getting to know the customers and addressing their needs. Finding out what they need to get the job done most effectively and productively and just making it happen for them is what gives me personal satisfaction,” Wilbert said.

Wilbert said that part of the decision to join Cowin was because of the company’s large rental fleet of diverse equipment lines, which gives him the ability to offer his customers a broad selection of choices. This plays a big role in his future success as he will be serving virtually the same territory as he had in the past and one that he is very familiar with.

“The opportunity to work for Cowin, a well-respected, well-established equipment company in the Atlanta market, and the ability to rent from a large fleet of earthmoving equipment is what I need to take care of my customers and a great opportunity for me to help grow their business. Cowin has an outstanding reputation for having good equipment that is well taken care of and for excellent customer service and I feel like I fit right in here.” CEG
