Alban Tractor, also known as Alban CAT, has chosen “March Madness” as the theme for its compact construction equipment (CCE) customer open house on March 15. The open house will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 8427 Pulaski Highway on Route 40 off exit 35A on the Baltimore, Md. Beltway or exit 67 on I-95.

Construction contractors from all over Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and Washington, D.C., are invited for the festivities. Plenty of food will be available while visitors watch the opening games of the NCAA basketball tournaments.

In addition, there will be special activities, free drawings and gifts. A special drawing will be held and six winners will receive different work tools as prizes.

To be entered into this drawing, qualified companies must:

• Pre-register by calling Allen Shock at 410/718-3878; and

• Registrants must attend the open house on March 15 and check-in.

Winners do not have to be present for the drawing but must have pre-registered and visited the registration table to be eligible.

Another attraction will be the last showing of the OCC Cat Chopper. Complementary posters also will be distributed — while supplies last. In addition, there will be multiple obstacle courses featuring a variety of compact construction equipment to test operator’s skills during the March Madness Hoops Challenge.

While checking out the new 36,000-sq.-ft. facility, visitors will be able to meet the Alban staff that includes Rob Miller, sales manager; Tim Foster, attachments and used parts manager; Eric Glenn, attachments and tire sales; and Justin Saul, inside sales representative.

The new facility boasts a large showroom for small machines, tires and attachments, which has been described as “similar to a car dealership.”

The building also includes office space for the company’s CCE Group, Technical Analysis personnel, Transportation Department and meeting space.

In addition, there is a dedicated shop for machine disassembly and for refurbishing used parts, warehouse space for used parts and a customer “Will Call” area.

“What we have in this facility are attachments for skid steers — all makes and models. It doesn’t have to be Cat for these attachments to fit. We have about 10,000 line items in inventory and three or four hundred attachments. We’re close to 750 with buckets and everything else,” said Foster.

The open house also will acquaint current customers with all that Alban has to offer.

“Even current customers that deal with Alban don’t realize that we have the small product now. Not only do we have attachments, work tools and tires that fit Cat machines, we can outfit any machine whether it’s John Deere, Case, Gehl or Takeuchi,” explained Saul.
