Customers looking for high-quality new or low-hour large machines to augment their fleets can turn to American Midwest Equipment Corporation — a division of McAllister Equipment Co. — to meet their needs. American Midwest has nearly 17 years experience finding customers what they need.
Founded by Vice President Greg Quirk in 1990, American Midwest has grown steadily to become a worldwide dealer of multiple equipment lines, including Volvo articulated trucks and other large earthmoving machinery. With a sales staff of three, including Quirk, the company buys, sells, leases and rents machinery.
American Midwest assists those who want to rent or buy a piece of machinery, from a small owner/operator to the government or anyone in between. The company carries a limited number of smaller excavators, but its specialty is larger machines, such as the 230,000-lb. (10,400 kg) class, as well as off-highway articulated dump trucks.
American Midwest also is branching out into rigid dumps. One of it’s goals is to have equipment on hand and ready to go at a moment’s notice, so it buys good equipment, thoroughly inspects it and makes sure it’s ready to go to work at any time.
“We try to carry inventory that regular dealers wouldn’t stock because their territory doesn’t dictate it,” Quirk said. “We have contacts throughout the United States and the world for finding and acquiring equipment.”
Customers can work through McAllister or contact American Midwest directly. “Most of our business is through repeat customers and referrals, so I believe we have a good reputation in the industry,” Quirk noted.
Serving Customers Better
McAllister’s decision to purchase American Midwest in late 2005 was based on the company’s reputation for excellent customer service, according to McAllister President Jack Moser, who is now president of American Midwest as well.
“We’re very happy to be teamed up with Greg Quirk and the staff at American Midwest,” asserted Moser. “This partnership will benefit McAllister customers as it gives them expanded resources for finding additional quality equipment when they need it.”
