Construction Equipment Guide

As a result of an assessment of all authorized projects in its region not yet under construction, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division, recently announced that one project has been paused for review of the project documentation and other relevant information to validate the decision to proceed with construction.

The Graham-TX, project in Young County will be reviewed because the most recent approved economic analysis was completed prior to Fiscal Year 1999. The review will include a new economic analysis to validate existing project conditions and to update the cost of construction. It is expected the review will take approximately four months to complete. This is a nonstructural flood damage reduction project with environmental restoration and recreation features. It will reduce flood damages, which have resulted in loss of property and injuries in the city of Graham since 1972.

The southwestern division commander considered 10 regional projects having completed studies but not yet under construction to determine whether they met the criteria for the review. Most do not require review because they have a recent economic analysis and are non-controversial. The Southwestern Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers carried out this review of its authorized projects not yet under construction to assure they comply with all economic, environmental and other appropriate guidelines and laws.
