Atlas Copco has introduced its Generation VI rollers — the CC4200VI, CC5200VI and CC6200VI. The new articulated tandem rollers feature temperature sensors on the front and rear rollers so operators can better manage temperature drop while compacting. Atlas Copco also offers the units with a 3-year package to its telematics system, FleetLink Advanced. The system allows users to optimize fleet usage, reduce maintenance costs and save time and money.
The Dynapac CC4200VI, CC5200VI and CC6200VI feature Tier IV engines and are available with Atlas Copco's optional ECO Mode system. ECO Mode is an rpm-management system that delivers to the rollers only the amount of power that is necessary to operate at any given time. This system can reduce fuel consumption by as much as 20 percent, according to the manufacturer.
Atlas Copco has redesigned the big double drum rollers for generation VI with long lasting LED lights to enhance the rollers' simple maintenance, and service points that are fast and easy to access. This includes positioning the engine on the rear module and incorporating large, easy to-open engine hoods. Servicing information displays directly on the driver's 7-in. LCD touch screen and also indicates what servicing needs to be completed. All rollers feature a lubrication-free steering hitch and steering cylinder.
The units' FleetLink Advanced system records the location of the equipment and working hours while allowing users to monitor each machine's parameters and performance every minute. It also includes a tool to set one or more geo-fences for a single machine or a group of machines. The FleetLink package includes a hardware module, access to an online fleet management portal, and a monthly connection package subscription, which customers can extend after the three years.
The double drum rollers also feature a corrosion-free water tank and sprinkler tubes, in combination with easily accessible filters for enhanced reliability and easy maintenance. Contractors can replace hydraulic hoses in individual segments, saving from the hassle and costs associated with replacing full lengths of the hoses.
The rollers enhance productivity by maximizing operator visibility and comfort. They feature a sideways-sliding seat and steering module that also rotate with the operator, which helps improve visibility for optimal control and compaction. And since the engine is located at the back of the roller there is less heat and noise affecting the operator. The Dynapac CC4200VI is available with a Combi module placed at the rear of the unit and offset steering to further improve top layer texture.
The Atlas Copco Dynapac CC4200VI, CC5200VI and CC6200VI are built with parts similar to other Atlas Copco equipment. This means less inventory for dealers and parts that are readily available for fast turnaround times and less downtime.
