Construction Equipment Guide

The Bid-Well 4800 automatic roller paver from Terex Roadbuilding offers contractors paving widths ranging from 15 to 172 ft. (4.6 to 52.4 m).

Bid-Well’s Rota-Vibe system delivers concrete surface smoothness, no matter the paving width, in a wide variety of applications from bridges and airports to highways and city streets.

The paver’s 48-in. (120 cm) truss depth houses the operator’s console, keeping the operator clear of carriage movement for maximum efficiency, safety and 360 degree visibility.

A redesigned operator’s station raises operator controls for more comfortable operation. From the platform, the paver operator easily adjusts both carriage and machine advancement speed.

The Rota-Vibe system provides a more uniform concrete surface and desired densities.

The system’s free-wheeling vibratory unit delivers a light vibrator touch to the surface to facilitate the sealing of difficult-to-finish concrete due to harsh mix designs, unpredictable delays, low slump specifications and wind exposure causing abnormal surface drying.

Rota-Vibe mounts to the paving carriage and can be leveled horizontally or adjusted vertically.

Double flighting on the paver’s dual spreading augers provides accurate concrete strike-off.

The 4800’s two, 5-ft. long (1.5 m) paving rollers provide a smooth surface. An adjustable finishing pan with available burlap or astro grass drag finishes the concrete surface to required ride specifications with minimal hand work.

The Bid-Well 4800 concrete paver is equipped with two standard interchangeable 23-hp (17 kW) gas engines with diesel engine options.

One engine drives the machine and carriage travel, while the second drives the paving rollers and augers.

The base paver weight is 7,600 lbs. (3,455 kg).
