Binder Machinery held a Wirtgen, Hamm and Vögele new product introduction event April 8 at its headquarters in South Plainfield, N.J.

Contractors from around New Jersey stopped by Binder Machinery for a barbecue dinner cooked up by Binder Product Support Representative, Shawn Mulvenna, and to learn about all the innovations and benefits of the latest Wirtgen, Hamm and Vögele paving, milling and compaction equipment.

After dinner, held outside on a warm, sunny spring afternoon, Binder Machinery President and COO Brendan Binder announced door prize winners. John Minick of PMC Paving Materials & Construction Company, Roselle, N.J., was the winner of five Wirtgen, Hamm and Vögele die-cast models, and Paul Spatz of V.A. Spatz & Sons, Berkeley Heights, N.J., was the lucky winner of a pallet of milling teeth, courtesy of Wirtgen America.

Then came the new product introductions. Jeff Wiley, vice president of sales of Wirtgen America, led off discussing Wirtgen W 210, W 200, W 60 and W 120F cold milling machines. Both the W 200 and W 210 boast three selectable engine speeds. The W 210 features a fuel-saving drive concept with twin diesel engines.

Nars Narsingh, Vögele manager of commercial support and development, showcased Vision 5100-2 and 5200-2 pavers. The 8-ft. (2.4 m) class tracked 5100-2 is designed for a wide variety of applications, including medium-scale highways and heavy highway construction. The tracked 5200-2 is designed for high pave speeds. Its rubber tracks in conjunction with highly efficient drive units allow the machine to pave at speeds up to 76 m/min.

David Salzmann, district sales manager of Wirtgen America, presented Hamm HD+ 120 and HD+ 140 high frequency rollers and the HD+ 120 oscillation roller. These rollers feature ergonomic driver’s seats with two multifunction control levers and sport turbo-diesel engines with high performance and low noise level.

All speakers were available for questions and answers following the presentations.

With the abundance of upcoming paving jobs available across New Jersey, many attendees said after the event that they were provided with clear paving equipment options for projects they may be involved with in the near future.
