Binder Machinery Company recently made three key executive appointments.

Brendan Binder has been named the company’s new president and chief operating officer.

“Without question this has been one of the most important decisions I have ever made for Binder Machinery Company,” said Bob Binder, chairman of the board of Binder Machinery.

“Like my father [Walter Binder] before me, my greatest charge of responsibility is the continuation of the company to the next generation. Brendan has provided true leadership capabilities both in good and bad times and has had direct involvement in all areas of the business. Brendan has consistently demonstrated true respect and compassion toward all people with whom he has been involved and he possesses a wonderful combination of humility and confidence that impresses everyone he is associated with.”

Binder, who had been vice president of business operations, started in the family company in 1990. As new company president, Brendan Binder looks forward to leading the company during the third generation and on into the fourth Binder family generation.

“Being given the opportunity to perform in the leadership role of president of Binder Machinery Co. is something I am truly excited about and for which I am very grateful,” said Brendan Binder.

“I am grateful to my grandfather and father who have paved the way for this opportunity and grateful to our employees and customers who have been so supportive of my growth and evolution throughout my tenure at Binder Machinery. I am excited about our future growth opportunities and working with my family members and our entire Binder Machinery Co. family toward our goal of continuing to cement our reputation as ’The Product Support Company.’”

Binder Machinery also has promoted Kirk Chagnon to vice president of field sales for Northern New Jersey and New York and Ann Marie Hebling to vice president of administration for South Jersey operations.

Chagnon, who prior to his promotion was north field sales manager, started with the company in 1988.

In his new position Chagnon will be primarily responsible for continuing the company’s strategic initiative to expand into the New York market with Kobelco cranes and Sennebogen material handlers.

“Year in and year out, Kirk has been one of the leading providers of sales growth and customer loyalty for Binder Machinery,” said Bob Binder.

“This promotion offers us a unique opportunity to grow our business in this huge area of construction activity and he will spearhead that effort.”

Hebling, who began her career at the company in 1985, had been office manager of Binder Machinery’s Voorhees, N.J., branch prior to her promotion.

“This is especially significant because Ann Marie becomes the first female officer in the company’s history,” said Bob Binder.

“She will have responsibility for managing the company’s payroll, employee files, and credit and collection activities in Voorhees and will assist Carlin [Binder, Voorhees branch manager], Charlie [Seelinger, vice president of administration], and Joe [Vazzano, chief financial officer] in the branch’s expense control.”

Soon Hebling will be working from Binder Machinery’s new facility in Winslow Township, N.J. Slated for completion in late spring 2007 it will replace the company’s current Voorhees, N.J., branch, which is 7.5 mi. north of where the new facility will be located.

Binder Machinery’s new facility will be 33,330 sq. ft. and will sit on 15 acres, which is approximately 8,000 sq. ft. larger than the Voorhees facility. Approximately 7,000 sq. ft. of the facility will be devoted to office space, with the balance housing parts warehouse and service. There will be eight service bays in the main shop and one each in the weld and track shop. The new facility also will feature a fully enclosed equipment washing and painting facility.

Founded in 1957, the company is celebrating its 50th year in business. In addition to Komatsu, Binder Machinery carries products by Ingersoll Rand/Blaw-Knox, Atlas-Copco, Metso Minerals, Sennebogen, Tadano, Kobelco, JRB, Geith and Stanley/LaBounty.
