On May 18, Binder Machinery of South Plainfield, N.J., held an event to showcase new product offerings to its customers.

The event attracted many of the biggest and most well known contractors in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

Many guests took full advantage of the all-day event by staying several hours learning about the features and benefits of Binder Machinery’s newly appointed franchise, SANY cranes. On display — the SCC8100 (100-ton crawler), SCC8200 (200-ton crawler), SCC8300 (300-ton crawler) and the SRC865XL (65-ton rough-terrain). SANY executives and product experts were on hand to answer all questions.

The event also provided an opportunity for guests to check out Binder Machinery’s other equipment lines, such as Komatsu and Wirtgen, Hamm, Vogele, Sennebogen and Tramac. Of particular interest to guests was Komatsu’s line of Tier IV equipment.

The Komatsu products on display included the HB215LC-1 (the world’s first hybrid excavator).

• From the Tier IV excavator line — PC290LC-10, PC360LC-10, PC390LC-10, PC490LC-10.

• From the Tier IV wheel loader line — WA380-7 and WA500-7. From the Tier IV dozer line — D65WX-17.

• From the Tier IV articulated truck line — HM300-3.

Innovations in the development of Tier 4 technology has allowed Komatsu to introduce diesel engines with a reduction of exhaust gas particulate matter (PM) of more than 90 percent and reductions of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) of more than 45 percent when compared with prior Tier III levels, while still consuming less fuel. As an industry leader in the design of engine technology, hydraulic and control systems, and major components, Komatsu has attained exceptional machine performance under a variety of operating conditions. Komatsu customers have come to expect outstanding quality and performance, and these Tier 4 powered machines are designed to meet customer expectations while improving the environment and fuel consumption.

On display from the Wirtgen Group was a W250 duel engine milling machine, a Hamm HD110 Plus asphalt roller and a Vogele 5200-2i Tier 4 paver.

Vogele’s new generation of Cummins’ Tier IV engine ensures higher efficiency and lower pollutant emissions, as well as lower noise levels. The suffix “i” in the paver’s name stands for “intelligent emission control” and means that the paver has been equipped with modern engine technology ensuring extremely low emissions. The innovative, ultramodern drive system complies with the US standard EPA Tier IV. With a power output of 186kW and 2,000 rpm, the SUPER 2100-2i paver’s six-cylinder diesel engine can handle laydown rates up to 1,100 tons per hour. The fuel-saving ECO mode with 175kW at 1,700rpm is perfect for any paving job. Additionally, Vogele is offering customers a completely new product with innovative technical features, user-friendly operation and a modern design. The philosophy behind the new emissions concept of the "i" series generation is "lower consumption — lower emissions — lower costs.”

The 830M material handler on display is from the latest “D” series of products manufactured by Sennebogen. The 835E, which is currently available, marks Sennebogen’s entry into the Tier IV market. With the 835E, Sennebogen is among the first manufacturers to launch a material handling machine on the market that complies completely with Tier IV. The Green Efficiency models combine the established high performance with low consumption, optimal operating comfort and maximum safety aspects for both man and machine.

Finally, Binder also displayed a Tramac V56S variable speed 12,000-ft.-lb. hydraulic breaker. Tramac’s hydraulic breakers are designed for use on large excavators and a variety of applications including demolition, quarrying, and excavating. To maximize productivity, the breakers feature variable speed technology that automatically adjusts to material hardness as it is processed.

Binder Machinery had lunch covered for its guests, as well, by serving a delicious barbecue lunch consisting of burgers and ribs.
