The Construction Association of Michigan (CAM) held its annual Michigan Construction & Design Tradeshow at the MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit on Feb. 7. In conjunction with the trade show, the association also held its 132nd Annual Meeting. Camtec, CAM's training and educational center arm of the organization presented educational workshops throughout the day-long event, which focused on business life cycles, employee recruiting and retention challenges, as well as other issues related to operating a successful building and construction related business in Michigan. The event attracted industry professionals from many of Michigan's leading construction companies and architectural and engineering firms.
Attendees got a first-hand look at the latest service, product and equipment innovations during the trade show portion of the event as they met with providers ready to share information and discuss their needs.
Founded in 1885 as the Builders Exchange of Detroit and Michigan, CAM is among North America's oldest and largest construction associations. The organization is currently based in Bloomfield Hills and is dedicated to serving Michigan's general contractors, specialty and sub-contractors, equipment and material suppliers and service providers including design firms and legal and financial institutions.
