On May 24, 2018, Carolina Cat hosted an open house at its South Charlotte, N.C., location.

At the event, the Rey Taco food truck offered a full menu of tacos and other Mexican cuisine. The local Spanish radio station, Laraza, also attended the event.

Many of the latest Caterpillar compact machines and allied brands offered by the company were available. The compact track loaders, skid steer loaders and mini-excavators, many with special offers, drew a steady flow of contractors throughout the day as did the Cat 289D with the box blade attachment. There were products from Morooka and Fiori as well.

  • The Cat 289D with Box Blades AccuGrade is designed for grading and leveling. Each model is designed to operate both manually and automatically with the use of Laser or GPS grading systems. This machine is used for grading and leveling of large commercial properties, housing pads, roadways and parking lots.
  • Morooka rubber track carriers combine traction with maximum load capacity; they go wherever there is a job that needs doing. With the widest range of rubber track carriers in the market, Morooka can match a model to any job.
  • Fiori dumpers: this vehicle is extremely versatile, with quality performance in restricted spaces such as narrow alleyways in city centers, lanes or tunnels, and it provides the ideal solution when driving reversibility, visibility and safe maneuverability — absolute necessities for the transport of materials. This is the most compact vehicle of its segment (8,800 lb. capacity, 180 degree pan rotation, and three-way dumping). Fiori Group dumpers offer traction and maneuverability on rough terrains, while also being safe, flexible and user-friendly in both forward and reverse.
