Carolina CAT held its first CT660 customer event at Richard Childress Racing, Welcome, N.C., on April 24. The event was held to promote the new Caterpillar vocational truck. Nearly 175 guests attended, representing a wide range of different industries, such as trucking/hauling, logging, paving, grading and construction.

Steve Goggins, Charlotte district sales manager On-Highway Truck Division of Caterpillar, gave a presentation on the history, design process and features/benefits of the truck. Everyone enjoyed a barbecue lunch from Tricia’s Catering, and then had the opportunity to tour the race shop and museum.

Three CT660 trucks, in red, white and blue, were parked in front of the museum for customers to look at and experience after exiting the museum. The blue truck, with a dump body, proved to be a popular attraction. The red and white trucks, which, interestingly enough were actually sold a few days prior to the event, were on display without bodies.

Carolina CAT says they have received a tremenous amount of positive feedback from the event and significant interest in the CT660.
