Construction Equipment Guide

Carter Machinery Company delivered the first Caterpillar vocational truck sold in the commonwealth to A&W Contractors of Chesapeake, Va. On Dec. 15, 2011, Jim Parker, CEO of Carter Machinery, presented the keys to James Archbell III, president of A&W Contractors at Carter Machinery’s Chesapeake, Va., Power Systems division location. The CT660 quad axle dump truck, painted viper red, was customized with striping by Carter Machinery to match the customer’s existing fleet.

While this may be the first Cat vocational truck in A&W’s fleet, the company has a long history with Cat products, including truck engines and earthmoving equipment.

“We’re excited to have A&W purchase the first CT660 in our territory,” said Jim Parker. “They have been a loyal Carter customer for many years and, given the type of work they do, will provide an excellent proving ground to demonstrate what this truck can do.”
