Cashman Equipment Company will offer JLG aerial work platforms such as scissor and boom lifts for rent at all seven rental locations. Expanding its comprehensive line of rental equipment, Cashman will take delivery of more than 100 JLG lifts available to southern Nevada and California.

“Aerial work platforms are a common sight inside as well as outside commercial buildings and are in high demand in southern Nevada,” said Dave Damboise, Cashman sales manager for rental services.

Scissor lifts, generally seen indoors, can be used where high lifting capacity is required. When equipped with non-marking tires, scissor lifts are ideal for lighting changes and maintenance in shopping malls or other commercial locations.

The lifts also are suited for plumbers, painters and welders carrying heavy loads up to heights of 18 to 43 ft. (5.4 to 13 m).

Boom or knuckle lifts are capable of higher heights, as well as versatile telescopic extension. The “arm” of the lift will fully extend anywhere from 24 to 53 ft. (7.3 to 16 m), at heights of 40 to 80 ft. (12 to 24 m), depending on the model. Booms are regularly in use outside of casinos and hotels when the messages of the marquees are changed.

“A boom lift would allow the operator to position the platform right next to the sign, regardless of surrounding stairs, landscaping, or uneven terrain,” stated John Rice, rental manager, Cashman.

Boom lifts are used in many other industries, such as exterior painting, window glazing, masonry (tilt-up walls), drywall installation, welding, and electrical installation.

JLG and Cashman have a solid history of working together; when Caterpillar and JLG Industries Inc. entered into a strategic, 20-year alliance in 2005. Cashman became the first dealership to receive the new JLG-Cat produced telehandlers.

“It was a logical choice to go with JLG,” stated Lee Vanderpool, Cashman’s vice president of sales and marketing. “They have a proven reputation for quality and reliability, and we are very familiar with their products. We’re always looking for opportunities to expand our offerings to our diverse customer base. Adding these new products to our JLG line of equipment will help us do that.”

Cashman provides new and used equipment for sale and rental, as well as parts and service to construction, paving, mining, truck engine, and power system industries throughout Nevada and parts of California. Currently headquartered in North Las Vegas, Cashman is one of the largest privately-owned employers in Nevada. It will relocate to its new corporate headquarters in early 2009.
