The new Cat CB22B, CB24B, CB24B XT, CB32B, CB34B, CB34B XW, CC24B and CC34B feature key enhancements that will help contractors achieve compaction more efficiently than ever, according to the manufacturer. This wide range of models provides versatility to compete in the 2 to 5.5 ton (1.8 to 5 t) size class. Typical applications include streets, bike paths, courtyards, patchwork, parking lots, driveways, town centers and shoulder work.

Highlights include a simple operating environment with intuitive controls and easy viewing LCD display. Efficient compaction performance is achieved through better visibility, increased drum diameters, multiple frequency vibratory systems and optional ballast additions on some models. The water spray system continues to be very reliable and the large capacity provides up to 12 hours of operation without refilling. The engines offer plenty of power on grades and are able to operate in Eco-mode for reduced fuel consumption and lower sound levels. This new line of utility compactors is designed for the rental market by providing easy operation, durable components, extensive legroom, and fuel-efficient engines for lower overall operating costs.

Simple Operation

The operating environment offers improved comfort and visibility. The narrow frame design and contoured engine hood provide good visibility to the drum edges and front of the machine. The new frame design also provides easy access due to logically placed handles and lower platform height. The intuitive control panel utilizes a backlit LCD display and sealed switches with bright LED lights for easy recognition in a variety of operating conditions. The ROPS and canopy options can both be lowered for easy transport or when low overhead obstructions exist; tools are not required.

Efficient Compaction Performance

The vibratory system is equipped with a variety of frequencies and single amplitude that provide lower sound levels and job site versatility. The increased drum diameters offer smooth and efficient compaction, while the smooth rear tires on the CC24B and CC34B models provide a kneading action for a tight mat finish. A 2 in. (5 cm) drum offset feature enhances control near curbs and obstacles while providing more coverage. Ballast options increase flexibility and compaction performance.

Water Spray System

The water spray system features a single tank, variable spray modes, easy service and triple filtration that ensure reliable performance.

The large capacity water tank provides up to 12 hours of operation between refills and is equipped with a low level indicator for added convenience. The single drain point and anti-freeze option simplify service and offers protection in cold weather environments when the system is not in use.

Optimized Power

The new B-Series Utility Compactors are equipped with the C1.5 and C2.2 engines. A turbo-charged C1.5 model (available only in America’s North) meets U.S. EPA Tier IV Final emissions standards. In other regions of the world, the engines meet emissions equivalent to U.S. EPA Tier IV Interim, and E.U. Stage IIIA emission standards (Note; E.U. Stage IIIB emissions standards do not apply to this power ratings class). The engines are equipped with multiple speed settings and Eco-mode, delivering improved fuel efficiency and lower sound levels.

Designed for Rental

These new models are designed specifically for the rental market. The intuitive control panel and spacious platform offer comfort to suit a variety of operators. Durable components and fuel efficient engines maximize uptime and lower lifetime operating costs, while the Product Link capability enables close monitoring to keep owners informed of machine location and service needs.
