Caterpillar's ability to power the world's infrastructure, their cutting-edge products and solutions and world-class operational performance are only possible because they say their team goes above and beyond to exceed customer expectations. And the Caterpillar team in Curitiba, Brazil, is no different.

About Curitiba

The Curitiba facility produces Caterpillar and Perkins engines for customers and for Caterpillar facilities in Brazil and Latin America. One hundred percent of the machines built in Campo Largo and around 70 percent of machines in Piracicaba are manufactured with Curitiba-built engines.

Operational Excellence

Recently, the Curitiba team manufactured its 250,000th engine. To commemorate the milestone, the team invited customers and dealers to tour the facility and held a celebration with employees as the 250,000th engine rolled off the line. Jorge Luiz Buneder, of Brazilian customer STEMAC, graciously received the engine and praised the facility for its working relationship.

“The production of our 250,000th off-highway engine is a significant opportunity to celebrate everything we have achieved with the Perkins brand in the region over the last 14 years,” said Rodrigo Chibior, Curitiba facility manager. “We've served our customers with quality mechanical and electronic engines … and have developed a world-class team of employees who are proud to produce our engines.”

Our Solutions Help Our Customers

“We truly value the partnerships we have with every one of our customers and this 250,000th engine celebration would not be possible without their continued support,” South America general sales manager Vanda Camargo said. “At Perkins, we focus on producing quality, dependable and highly productive engines to meet our customers' need. As a leading global engine manufacturer, we remain committed to providing our customers with the right power solutions.”

Caterpillar would like to thank the Curitiba team for their focus on customer needs, and offer congratulations on this significant milestone!
