CEC Rocks On with 26,000 sq. ft. expansion.
Mon August 12, 2013 - National Edition
In early 2013 Construction Equipment Company (CEC), a rock crushing and screen equipment company, expanded with a 24,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and 2,000 sq. ft. paint shop on 8 acres in Sheridan, Ore. While some may think that the decision to expand could have been premature, the father and son duo of Gary and Roger Smith thought it the perfect time to build.
“With the market on the way to recovery, we thought this was the perfect opportunity to expand our product line and better serve our customers,” said Gary Smith, CEO.
The shop will complement the company’s Tualatin, Ore., home office facility, which has been in operation for more than 30 years.
Since its inception in 1981 CEC has grown from just three employees to more than 70. The company is headquartered in Tualatin, Ore., and the fabrication facility is located in Kelso, Wash. The majority of CEC’s employees are based out of the Tualatin office, however, there are seven outside salesmen located throughout the United States.
CEC has established dealerships with approximately 140 equipment dealers throughout the United States, creating an extensive distribution system of the CEC product line.
CEC currently manufactures the largest screen machine in the world and manufactures several different sizes in the Screen-It product line. CEC also manufactures portable jaw plants, cone plants and both vertical and horizontal shaft impactor plants.
CEC provides complete crushing plants including electrical switch gear, control houses, generator sets and dust control systems.
