Construction Equipment Company (CEC), a manufacturer of heavy equipment, specializing in high-quality rock crushing, screening and conveyor systems for quarry, mining, and recycling operations, is adapting to meet changes in the screening business. With the industry itself shrinking, smaller companies are in need of specialized equipment.

“In a day when the scope and overall market trends in the screening business are evolving, CEC is adapting to meet those changes head on,” said Richard Allen, owner and president of CEC Crushers.

In most cities in North America and Europe, cramped work locations in dense urban environments coupled with difficult transportation corridors have created challenges for larger machines with larger footprints. Additionally, vibration and noise pollution are focal points in many urban jurisdictions making larger machines less viable.

“The industry is getting smaller and with tighter locations, compact equipment to feed the screen is needed. Smaller companies are in need of this specialized equipment,” said Allen.

CEC is ready to meet challenging demands of the marketplace. The new CEC 4x8 diesel Screen-It is a commercial grade, self-contained, portable screen plant that produces high-quality material at a price which companies can more easily afford, according to the company.

“We laid out a few simple criteria to be the foundation of this game changing machine,” said Allen. According to Allen, it had to be small and light enough to tow behind a modern diesel work truck, yet still be true to CEC's legendary strength. Second, it had to have a feed height allowing operators to load it with a standard skid-steer loader, no ramp necessary. Third, it had to be easy to operate while still producing a high quality, sellable finished product. And finally, it had to be a CEC Screen-It.

“After extensive R&D testing we are confident in the outstanding performance of the new CEC 4x8 Screen-It,” said Allen. “With a potential production range of 50-120 tph this compact screen plant is going to change the screening business.”
