Champion Motor Graders customers were invited to “Get A Heavyweight” in their corner when the company launched “The Main Event” demo tour of its new C110 C production class tandem drive grader on Feb. 20 at the Scott Equipment Company’s open house in Memphis, Tenn.

Weighing in at 23,500 lb. (10,659 kg), Champion’s new production class graders have been designed to bridge the gap between compact and traditional full sized graders. Featuring the same agility, economy and transportability of a Champion compact grader, the new C110 C grader is the right-sized machine to fit those mid-size grader projects and move big loads efficiently.

“We’re pleased to be able to offer these production class graders that pack more punch for big jobs in small spaces,” said Bryan Abernathy, executive vice president of Champion Motor Graders. “With agile footwork to get in and out of tight corners fast, plus maximum torque at 120 hp, the C110 C is the true heavyweight champion among today’s small graders.”

Champion will be launching its new C116 C all wheel drive production class grader later this year.

Designed to load onto a tilt-top trailer with 10 ft. (3 m) roof height for maximum bridge clearance, the graders can be easily moved from job site to job site without being floated. Powered by a Cummins QSB6.7 Tier III standard engine, the C110 C features a conventional direct drive Funk DF-150 Power-shift 8 forward, 4 reverse transmission and gear-driven NAF Tandems.

“Champion has partnered with some of the leading manufacturers of heavy machinery components to produce a larger grader with all of the hallmark power, performance and efficiency of our compact lines,” said Woody Ferrell, Champion vice president sales and marketing.

“With a full range of front and rear mounted Champion attachments and options available, the C110 C production class grader truly is a versatile mid-sized package for increased job applications for all of our customers, from contractors to municipalities.”

The C110 C Series grader also features 360 degree circle rotation and a “big grader” moveable highlift blade system with a maximum bank slope angle of 90 degrees left and right. A 2 to 1 reach outside the tires permits steep ditch cutting angles and back sloping outside overall machine width.
