Chicago Pneumatic Power Technique (CP) has launched a new line of CCP vacuum prime centrifugal pumps. The three pumps include 4, 6 and 8-in. models.
Efficient and versatile, these medium flow pumps are suitable for many industries, including construction, general dewatering and emergency applications, such as flood clean up, according to the manufacturer.
The pump system consists of a centrifugal pump and an air and water separator, which enables air to be separated from the liquid and be sucked by a vacuum pump — making automatic priming possible. Even with suction heights of several meters, the machine rapidly evacuates the air from the suction pipe and starts to pump. Furthermore, a semi-open impeller allows the CCP range to pump liquids with solids in suspension.
This pump provides Qmax of 840 gal. per minute with an Hmax of 71 ft. (21.6 m). The 4-in. (10 cm) pump has a best efficiency point (B.E.P.) of 70 percent. A Hatz engine delivers 13 horsepower (hp) at 2,000 rpm. A semi-open impeller handles solids up to 3 in. (7.6 cm).
The CCP 6-in. (15.2 cm) pump produces Qmax of 1,320 gpm with an Hmax of 91 ft. (27.7 m) at 75 percent B.E.P. A Kohler engine delivers 29 hp at 1,200 rpm, 37 hp at 1,400 rpm, 42 hp at 1,600 rpm and 45 hp at 1,800 rpm. A semi-open impeller handles solids up to 2 in. (5 cm).
The 8 in. (20 cm) pump delivers Qmax of 2,640 gpm with an Hmax of 98 ft. (30 m) at 64 percent B.E.P. A Kohler engine produces the same hp as the 6-in. pump. The semi-open impeller handles solids up to 3 in. (7.6 cm).
All three sizes of unit — 4, 6 and 8 in. — feature rapid “dry” priming up to a height of 27.5 ft. (8.3 m) and a high resistance to abrasive liquids and sandy waters. A rotary vane vacuum pump is lubricated with an oil recovery system and coalescing filters, which will not contaminate the environment. Additionally, cast iron lined wear plates are easily replaceable, according to the manufacturer.
The control panel includes a display with six languages, hour meter, rev counter, battery voltmeter, throttle rod or buttons and an emergency stop button. For safe operation, the engine automatically shuts down in the event there is low oil pressure or lack of battery charging, while an engine failure alarms with LED lights and a display message for the operator.
