The Clark Construction Group Inc. recently reached substantial completion on 1750 H Street, N.W., one of the District of Columbia’s newest downtown Class A office buildings, developed by Washington, D.C.-based CarrAmerica Urban Development LLC, a subsidiary of CarrAmerica Realty Corporation for RMB Realty, of Dallas.
Located downtown and one block from Metro, 1750 H Street, N.W. is a 171,000-sq.-ft. (15,886 sq m), 11-story office building with three levels of underground parking. Striking and contemporary in design, the facade consists of precast concrete with aluminum and glass window wall. The lower two floors on the entry facade are clad in limestone with a granite base, while a stainless steel canopy covers the building’s entry doors.
In the main lobby, the floor features four types of marble and the walls include French limestone with makore wood panels capped with veneer plaster. The first floor features a 5,000-sq.-ft. (465 sq m) retail component and exercise facility, and floors 2 through 10 will be fit-out as virtually column-free office space.
Einhorn Yaffee Prescott Architecture & Engineering, of Washington, D.C., designed the project. The team also included Theobald Bufano Associates, of Washington, D.C., structural engineer; Girard Engineering, of McLean, VA, mechanical/electrical engineer, and Wiles Mensch, of Reston, VA, civil engineer.
The Clark Construction Group Inc. is headquartered in Bethesda, MD.
