Harrisburg, PA-based Cleveland Brothers Holdings, Inc. announced Oct. 11 that it is expanding its Caterpillar dealer territory into western Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia and Maryland through the acquisition of Beckwith Machinery Company, the Caterpillar dealer based in Pittsburgh, PA, and One Call Rentals, a network of CAT Rental Stores.

Cleveland Brothers Holdings Inc. is the parent company of Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co. Inc., the Caterpillar equipment dealer in northeastern and south central Pennsylvania. The acquisition of Beckwith and One Call Rentals will increase the company’s Caterpillar territory to include 59 counties in Pennsylvania, 17 counties in West Virginia and two counties in Maryland. The combined companies will employ approximately 1,400 employees at 28 branch locations.

President and CEO Jay Cleveland Jr. sees tremendous potential in the expanded territory, “All three companies have a long history of offering quality Caterpillar construction equipment, engines and parts and services. We believe this opportunity will allow us to increase the level of product offerings and services for our customers.”

Cleveland Brothers Executive Vice President Tom Kirchhoff added, “This acquisition provides a tremendous amount of opportunity for our employees and customers.”

Founded in 1907, Beckwith Machinery Company predates the formation of Caterpillar Inc. When Caterpillar was formed in 1925, Beckwith Machinery became one of the first Caterpillar equipment dealers in the United States. The Murrysville, PA-headquartered company currently serves as a supplier of Caterpillar construction equipment and engines.

One Call Rentals handles Caterpillar compact construction equipment and allied equipment such as air compressors and aerial lifts. One Call Rentals has three branches that operate in Mt. Pleasant and Neville Island, PA, along with Shinnston, WV.

Cleveland Brothers was founded in 1948, and has served Central and Northeastern Pennsylvania for over 55 years from its corporate headquarters in Harrisburg, PA. In addition to Caterpillar equipment and engines, Cleveland Brothers also represents Sullair industrial and portable air compressors, JLG aerial lifts, Mauldin paving equipment, Godwin pumps, Wacker products and other allied equipment.
