Cleveland Brothers and CB Con-Agg held a live crushing and screening demo Oct. 17, 2019, in Carlisle, Pa.
The event, held at Hempt Brothers' Old Hempt Shale Pit at 1164 Harrisburg Pike, showcased Metso crushing and screening equipment as well as a wide array of Caterpillar equipment.
"We wanted to have a Live Demo Day for our customers to show how the material is processed with the equipment we carry," said Tom Jamieson, general manager of Cleveland Brothers CB Con-Agg. "So, we put together this event along with some of our family members from the Caterpillar side and other product lines we handle and did a little ‘sell the house' at the same time, but with a primary focus on the aggregate side of our business."
The impressive equipment spread included a Caterpillar 323 excavator loading shot rock (limestone) into a Metso Lokotrak LT106 jaw crusher with a setting of 4 in., which was then conveyed to a Metso LT1213 impact crusher with a closed side setting of 2 in., which was then fed to two Barford R6536TR track conveyors, which stockpiled a 1-in. product and a 3-in. product.
Static displays included a mobile electric cone crushing plant with a 6x20 screen, which can be plugged into a generator system, and a Metso HP300 cone crusher.
The long-time Caterpillar dealer also took the opportunity to showcase a wide range of yellow iron that all can be an integral part of a successful material processing operation. Equipment included a 259D3 compact track loader, a 908M wheel loader, a 323 excavator and a 980M wheel loader, a 745 articulated truck. And Cleveland Brothers also displayed a Kenworth T880 with 17.6-ft. Bibeau dump body, which Cleveland Brothers installed. The company does all makes, models and sizes up to 20-ft. body sizes.
Later in the day following the live demos, dinner was served to guests and door prizes were awarded throughout the day. CEG
