Mike Jones (L) of Cleveland Brothers walked A.J. Brentzel of A.J. Brentzel Excavation & Services and Brentzel’s daughter, Blaire, through the lineup of equipment on sale. Machines were lined up and ready for sale. Although a lot of the machines were sporting sold tags by mid-day, there were still plenty of deals to be had. Rob Shuster of RWS Development Co. Inc. brought his son, Rob Shuster Jr., for a closer look at this Caterpillar D6N dozer. Cleveland Brothers’ Bob Frescura (R) catches up with Chet Brown (L) of On Target Services Marketing Inc. and Bob Thompson, Cleveland Brothers retiree. Ken Guerra (L) of Guerra Excavating Inc. and John D. Caruso of John D. Caruso Inc. Asphalt Paving came in search of deals.

Cleveland Brothers' first Steel A Deal event, conducted at the dealership's Murrysville, Pa., location, was a great success with crowds of enthusiastic buyers closing the deal on a significant amount of iron.

The event kicked off with a pre-registration and equipment preview on Friday, Oct. 21 followed by Saturday's big event with eager buyers lined up and ready to dash to the machine of their choice when the ribbon was dropped to allow entry at 8:00 a.m. sharp. Special pricing was extended on more than 200 pieces of heavy equipment, attachments and jobsite equipment.

A cold front and sporadic rain showers did little to dampen the spirits of those attending in search of deals. A catered lunch and giveaways also were provided to those in attendance. More than 200 industry professionals pre-registered to attend the event.

After Saturday's onsite event, the bargains continued with a Steel A Deal Cyber Sale that extended from Oct. 24 through 28.
