Indeco has announced a full line of new boom-mounted plate compactors.

The leader of the pack is the 89- by 94-centimeter (35 by 37 in.) IHC-200 which develops over 18,144 kilograms (40,000 lbs.) of centrifugal force. The series also includes the IHC-130, IHC-65 and the IHC-30 with 9,752, 6,577 and 3,039 kilograms (21,500, 14,500 and 6,700 lbs.) of force respectively.

All models are designed to quickly attach to virtually all brands of excavators, backhoe loaders or minis available in North America. They provide the high densities required for foundations and footings and quickly compact loose granular material in trenches. They eliminate the need for individual walk-behind rollers and work faster than hand-held plate compactors, saving contractors time and money and keeping the operator safely out of the trench.

The extremely high force characteristics of these machines are generated by designed eccentric weight systems that are driven into rotation at frequencies up to 2,000 vibrations per minute. Thick steel base plates transfer energy into a wide range of materials from rock to granular materials to semi-cohesive soils.

The heavy-duty construction of these machines stands up well to the rigors of day-to-day job-site abuse and are extremely cost-efficient to own and operate. Longterm reliability of Indeco boom-mounted plate compactors is also achieved through a rugged shock absorber system located between the carrier coupling plates and the vibration motor housing, directing the vibration forces down into the material and away from the carrier and its operator. Oil-bath lubrication and oversized bearings, similar to those found in vibratory rollers reduce wear and tear of the vibration systems.
