Company Wrench, a heavy construction equipment dealer servicing the construction, demolition, recycling, scrap, waste, utility and other industries, has expanded its operations with the opening of a Charlotte, N.C., location. Headquartered in Carroll, Ohio, Company Wrench now operates in 10 locations across the United States.
The new facility will handle the Charlotte metropolitan area in conjunction with both the Lexington and Raleigh facilities. Company Wrench will be able to support the market within a radius and delivery time and service of approximately 2 to 2 and-a-half hours, according to the company.
With the acquisition of the JCB line, Company Wrench was able to acquire both the North and South Carolina markets, according to Michael Gilmartin, east coast regional manager. Along with that, the company also was able to get the Kobelco line for North and South Carolina.
“The growth into this market along with the expansion and business and growth here in the Charlotte market has brought us here for our next move,” Gilmartin said.
“The equipment that we offer is a full range from mini-excavators with specialty attachments on the end. Right now, we have a Komatsu PC1250, which is our largest product that we offer for demolition.
“Standard machines in the Southeast market right now go up to the SK850 Kobelco, and we have the ability to put attachments up to the LaBounty MSD4000R and the new UPX950 on the end of the stick, as a third member.”
Company Wrench's PC1250 is set up for the MSD7500R, third member shear and also a UPX950. It is able to hit 70 ft. with demolition capabilities at 70 ft., with boom/stick modifications made by CW Worx, according to Gilmartin.
“One of the [SK850s] is an underpin boom that we exclusively do on our machines to give it an additional reach. That machine has the ability to get to heights up to five stories. It will hit 50 feet to 60 feet with modified 35 foot stick and that machine.”
The MSD4000R LaBounty shear is designed to process H beam structured steel and even concrete. It will handle a 34-in. H-beam, 22-in. H-beam, and 3/8 plate steel, 5.5 in. round, 5 in. square solid, 28 in. pipe and 35 in. concrete, according to Gilmartin.
Working Outside the Box
Company Wrench is an “outside the box” type company with a focus on cutting edge customer service.
“We don't normally have just a standard machine in the rental industry in our rental fleet offerings. We offer machines that have the ability to take the second member and put a larger attachment on it, give it a little bit more aggressive approach to doing digging depth with the long reaches that we offer as well,” Gilmartin said.
“The SK850 has a 79-foot front for digging depths and then you can look at that machine with the underpin boom to be able to do the demolitions. Then you go to another machine, the SK500 from Kobelco, we can put that machine with a 72-foot-long front on it and then we can knock the stick off of it and we can put a second member 16,000-pound hammer on it.
“We are a little bit outside the box in the way that we present our solutions to our customers. We have a creative way of thinking.”
