Hundreds of attendees lined up outside the doors of the Fort Washington Expo Center to see the newest equipment and talk with more than 115 dealers during PhilConex 2001.
The show, held Feb. 20 - 21, attracted contractors and guests from from Maine to Virginia. Primarily an indoor show, PhilConex 2001 featured 70,000 sq. ft. of indoor space and 10,000 sq. ft. outdoors for static displays. The intimate atmosphere of the show allowed attendees and exhibitors plenty of opportunity to talk one-on-one to find solutions to their equipment needs.
All the latest makes and models of equipment were showcased, including Blaw-Knox, Caterpillar, Case, Hamm, Hitachi, John Deere, JCB, Kawasaki, Kubota, New Holland, Vermeer, Volvo and Wirtgen.
Philadelphia Eagle and Hall of Famer Chuck Bednarik attracted quite a crowd as he signed autographs in the Construction Equipment Guide booth He also shared stories of his days as a star player. The WYSP Extreme Team, featuring former model and spokesperson Melissa, helped Norris Sales kick off the show with a bang.
Numerous prizes and give-aways filled the expo center, including a Philadelphia-style pretzels, yardsticks, and cowboy hats. One lucky winner, Mike Ciaccio of B&M Landscaping, went home with more than $250 from the Creative Financial Group.
Now that the dust has settled and the equipment has rolled out of PhilConex 2001, attendees can get ready for the next big CEG show in Cleveland, OH, on April 4-5.
