Crews at a Chinese construction site on Christmas Day uncovered 30 dinosaur eggs.

Construction was halted at the site of a new middle school in the city of Ganzhou after the workers found the 130 million-year-old eggs while clearing rock with explosions, BGR reported.

The workers called the police, who, in turn, contacted a local museum, which confirmed that the objects, which looked like rocks, were actually dinosaur eggs, BGR reported. The Dayu County Museum now has the eggs, with plans to conduct more research.

The construction site is located on what was once an ancient lakeshore, an ideal location for dinosaurs to raise their young, BGR reported. The surrounding area has yielded many dinosaur fossils and eggs in the past, with some identified as Oviraptor remains. There is no word yet as to which type of dinosaur these latest eggs belong.
