Upstate New York’s heavy highway, excavation, demolition and aggregate producing contractors have long been the core customer base of Albany, N.Y.-based Contractors Sales.

With that in mind, Contractors Sales has just added an LBX 350 series excavator equipped with the new Allied model MP 985R material processor.

“The advances in technology over the last 20 years in the construction equipment and attachments arena have been astounding,” said Scott DuBois, vice president of sales of Contractors Sales. “Manufacturers are bringing to market highly specialized items that can dramatically increase contractor efficiencies. Many of these items are so highly specialized that adding them as a permanent addition to a contractor’s fleet is not necessarily an economical viable alternative for our customers. As a part of our continued efforts to best serve the needs of our customers, we are making these products available in our rental fleet.”

The Allied MP Processor with demolition jaw is designed for concrete recycling, C&D processing, demolition and rebar removal. This unit also features a patented speed valve system that provides a power curve-to-speed ratio that matches any application. The MP’s main jaw design features a central breaking tooth that allows the material to fracture easily and pass through the lower with ease. The patent pending Shear/Plate Shear design uniquely incorporates both the features of a standard shear jaw and the plate cutting abilities of a tank plate shear.

The MP Processor with demolition jaw also features:

• Teeth that are easy to change and rebuild;

• Changeable jaw set system for quick jaw change-outs;

• A jaw set stand for safe, easy and fast jaw change-outs;

• A proprietary regeneration valve that improves cycle time;

• Full 360-degree hydraulic power rotation;

• Top mount design to accommodate a variety of carrier designs; and

• Solid steel sliding RockGuard rod covers eliminate the need for bulky cylinder guards.

The Allied MP Processor is designed to fit 44,000-lb. to 110,000-lb. (19,958 to 49,895 kg) excavators. Attachments include demolition jaw and Shear/Plate Shear jaws that can be changed out quickly to meet any jobsite need. These two jaw sets take the place of the multiple jaw sets other manufacturers use resulting in cost saving and more uptime in production, according to Allied.

“Our brand new LBX 350 teamed with the Allied MP 985R gives this material processor over 40 feet of reach,” said DuBois. “It’s ideal for the demolition phase of bridge work, has great applications in scrap yards, and with its ability to cut up to a 15-inch steel I-beam, it can be used in bridge deck removal. Switch out the heads, which only takes a few minutes, and you’re using the same attachment to process concrete.”
