More than 200 contractors, customers, guests and friends of industry gathered at the new Northland JCB’s open house held May 8.

On a pristine day, potential buyers from small contractor ATNT to famed jewelers Alex & Ani came to see JCB Northland’s new retail facility in Middleboro, Mass., featuring expansive grounds and impressive six-bay warehouse and store.

Owner Steve O’Leary and staff were on hand to greet guests with sumptuous breakfast and lunch, giveaways, an array of new equipment lines, accompanying vendors, a trailer for dining and a lot full of newly offered products, such as the Avant line.

O’Leary expressed his gratitude to the guests and invited them to the upcoming event in October at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.

“It was a great success last year and we are doing it again,” said O’Leary.

JCB Northland general manager Jeff Souza talked about the move from the company’s Stoughton location to its very accessible Middleboro spot, right at the exit from Interstate 495 North and South to Middleboro on East/West Route 44. The new store opened in November.

“We wanted to better sever our customers and have a retail store where you can see our equipment more easily and have a more pleasant experience,” said Souza. “Usually, with this kind of equipment line, we would be stuck in an industrial park and you don’t see us. We wanted to open up a retail store at the best possible retail space we could find.

“Since we opened around Thanksgiving, not a week has gone by where a dozen customers don’t stop by to see our new location, added Souza. “When you go into a fine-looking restaurant, you want five-star service. You see the building from the outside and you want that service on the inside. That’s what I want here, the finest possible service to customers.”

Customers had the chance to test out a full display of the Northland JCB line of equipment, with additional Avant products, Ground Shark line of tree clearers, Paladin equipment, shooting booms, cranes, lifts and much more.

Northland JCB, a division of NITCO, will hold a material handling exhibit and open house in October at the home of the New England Patriots, Gillette Stadium.
