Cornell Local Roads Holds Pavement Maintenance School

Cornell Local Roads Program held its Pavement Maintenance School April 21 at the village hall in the village of Thomaston in Nassau County, N.Y. Thomaston’s department of public works hosted the event.

Dan Atkins and Christopher Blades, both of the Cornell Local Roads Program, led an informative session, which included the latest techniques in asphalt repair and maintenance.

Representatives from various Nassau County municipalities attended, including:

• Barry Abercrombie of the village of Great Neck;

• Michael Adams of the village of Thomaston;

• Kenny Bunn of the Great Neck water pollution control district;

• Keith Bunnell, superintendent of public works of the village of Williston Park department of public works;

• David Distilli of the village of Thomaston;

• Robert Elliot, superintendent of public works of the village of Westbury department of public works;

• Andy Elsonte of the village of Williston Park department of public works;

• Michael Ferguson of the Pleasantville highway department;

• Brian Gauger of the village of Russell Gardens;

• Joseph Graf of the town of North Hempstead highway department;

• Scott Hislop, superintendent of public works of the village of Flower Hill;

• Sigfredo Irizarry of the village of Russell Gardens;

• Michael Juresak, superintendent of public works of the village of Russell Gardens department of public works;
