Countdown to Cleveland Expo Begins

The time is drawing near for CEG Productions “Greatest Show in Dirt,” set to hit the Cleveland area in a few weeks, offering contractors the latest in products and services as well as an extensive demonstration area and the ever-popular backhoe and skid steer rodeos.

After the huge success of CEG’s recent Philadelphia Construction Expo, which drew record crowds, the Cleveland Construction Expo will be held Friday April 11 and Saturday April 12 at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea.

The expo will boast more than 38,000 sq. ft. of indoor exhibit space, several acres of outdoor displays, a large area for active demonstration and operation of machinery, along with plenty of free parking.

Exhibit space has been filling up fast in the past few weeks as the the expo draws closer. Many exhibitors are gearing up for the show, planning equipment displays, special discounts and giveaways to offer at their booths.

Some of the many exhibitors heading to this year’s show will include:

• Paul R. Lipp & Sons

-Booth #407

Paul R. Lipp & Sons will highlight its Ocala depth monitor for excavators as well as various laser equipment at the show. Hoping to get exposure and meet new customers, the company will offer show specials for attendees.

• RDS Technology Ltd.

-Booth #508

RDS Technology will be showcasing its board-born scales, on-board scales and other weighing systems for front-end loaders. The company hopes to meet new customers and dealers in Ohio as well as in Michigan, Iowa, South and North Dakota and Wisconsin.

• Sonich Industrial Sales

-Booth #804

Sonich Industrial Sales will feature hydraulic scale systems for loaders, Bobcats and lift trucks at the expo. Hoping for new business, customers and prospects, the company will offer half off installation during the two-day event.

• Southeastern Equipment Co.

-Booth 16 (outdoor static)

Still narrowing its display down, Southeastern Equipment hopes to add new customers to its roster while showing current customers the new products the company offers including Case, New Holland, Bomag, Kobelco, ACS, Eager Beaver, Gradall, JRB, FFC, Terex, Alamo Industrial, Kent, Etnyre and Schwarze Industries.

• Bradley Machinery

-Booth #D (demo)

Bradley Machinery will display its Gehl equipment including the CTL80, 353 excavator, 7800, and a 5635 in the demo area during the show.

Customers wishing to test drive the machinery can do so while learning of the manufacturers’ product line.

Bradley Machinery hopes to broaden the Gehl name at the expo, showing the quality of Gehl products to attendees.

• Lincoln Electric/Northern Ohio Sales

-Booth 15 (outdoor static)

Lincoln Electric will offer a variety of products at the show including the brand new Vantage 500, housed in a stainless steel case, the Machine of the Year - the PowerMig 300, and the new Ranger 305D diesel unit, as well as other small mig welders and additional welding equipment.

The company also will hold a welding demonstration at its booth.

Sharing its booth with Aga Gas Inc., Lincoln Electric hopes to promote its new products released this year and form new sales leads. This show will help customers get acquainted with the Richmond Heights-based company. Lincoln Electric will have special pricing at the show in addition to drawings for prizes.

• Alliance Capital

-Booth #503

Alliance Capital will provide equipment financing and leasing at the show from $300 to a half million, with approvals being done on the floor.

The company will offer a 90-day deferred contract with no money down.

Alliance Capital, a former subsidiary of American Express, wants to get name recognition out to customers, while making contacts with dealers and manufacturers letting them know the services the company offers.

• Geith Inc.

-Booth #504

Geith will highlight its new claw coupler, as well as its backhoe and excavator buckets at the show. The company, hoping to gain more exposure in the Ohio area, will offer promotional items at the Cleveland Construction Expo.

• Bobcat Company

-Booth #409, A (demo)

Bobcat Company will showcase its new Toolcat as well as a little bit of everything from its product line including all-wheel steers, track machines and the mini line.

With both an indoor display and an area in the demo site, Bobcat hopes to have customers test out machinery during the show instead of taking time out to do so in the field. It also hopes to get some new sales lead information. Some of the equipment in the demo area includes the Toolcat, the MT50, the all-wheel steer line, the mini backhoe loader, the Versahandler, mini-excavators, skid steers and attachments.

• Arbor Marketing Lamco Inc.

-Booth #107

Arbor Marketing, a company that offers the warehousing and sales of preventative maintenance tire sealant, will show off its product, which protects against flats and under inflation, at the show.

The company, hoping to add Cleveland dealers and end users to its customer base, will hold a demonstration showing how the sealant stops air loss.

• Vermeer Sales and Service

-Booth E (demo)

Vermeer Sales and Service will feature its line of trenchers, chippers and stump cutters as well as a line of compact excavators and mini skid steers, which guests will be able to test drive in the demo area. The company hopes to make some sales at the show in addition to getting exposure of its products.

• Crane Certification Services

-Booth #803

Hoping to make new contacts at the show, Crane Certification Services will offer its crane inspection services as well as Jinnings pile driving equipment and National Attachments products at the show.

• National Safety Council

-Booth #505

With safety training being its mission, the National Safety Council hopes to offer more training and products for the construction area and will show off its wares at the Cleveland Construction Expo. With almost 1,000 companies under its umbrella in northern Ohio, National Safety Council will offer special discount pricing for training and/or products in conjunction with the show.

• Steve’s Welding

-Booth #100

Steve’s Welding will highlight its line of Cougar Industries’ truck vibrators and other vibrating equipment including the DC3200 vibrating table, which can be knotted under a dump truck bed or trailer to unload material. The company also will show its line of earth anchors for anchoring trees, poles and fences.

Offering installation sales, customer repairs and fabrication services, Steve’s Welding hopes to get the word out in Ohio and the northern United States on the Cougar product line.

• Thompson Pump Midwest

-Booth #808,809

Thompson Pump Midwest will display its 6-in. full automatic compressor prime trash pump, its Lansas sword plugs and Psurumi submersible pumps.

With special discounts on pump purchases, the company hopes to meet new people in the industry and expand its customer base.

• WCI Time Clock Systems

-Booth #506

Delaware, OH-based WCI will offer its time and attendance systems at the show.

Offering special prices on these systems, the company hopes to let future customers know its products are available for saving time and money for the construction industry.

With these and more exhibits to wet attendee’s equipment appetites, CEG’s Cleveland Construction Expo promises to be a good time had by all.

A total cash prize of $5,000 for each rodeo will have operators lining up to test their skills during the backhoe and skid steer rodeos to be held each afternoon of the show.
