A landslide has reduced SR 12 in Bryce Canyon National Park to one lane from milepost 14.7 to milepost 15. Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) crews are working to stabilize the slope.
As of early April, traffic is signalized at both ends of the slide area and alternating over a single lane with delays of approximately two-and-a-half to three minutes. This configuration is expected to continue for several weeks.
Current activities include soil-nail installation and probing; earthwork to continue stabilization of the area; drilling and subsurface exploration continues in order to acquire geotechnical; and hydraulic data for permanent roadway design plans.
Work began in March and is expected to continue for several weeks.
