Caterpillar compact construction machines, Hustler turf equipment and Exmark mowers adorned the golf course at Prairie Landing Golf Club on Sept. 16.
More than 100 Patten customers representing 56 companies enjoyed a day on the course at the club in West Chicago. Customers primarily represented the landscape contractor and specialty trade industries. Crane Patten, owner and president of Patten Industries Inc.; Ed Rapp, vice president Building Construction Products of Caterpillar Inc.; representatives from key brand suppliers including Hustler and Stihl; and other Patten managers and sales personnel also enjoyed a round of golf.
Contests for longest drive, closest to the pin, longest putt and hole-in-one kept the game at a steady, but friendly, competition. A hole-in-one competition at pin 17 involved the opportunity to win a Harley-Davidson Numbered Deuce motorcycle donated by Great Lakes Cycle, a new company recently launched by Crane Patten in Elburn, IL. Golfers at hole 3 had the opportunity to win a Cat 257B multi-terrain loader with a hole-in-one.
Holes throughout the course were sponsored by Caterpillar Financial Services, Hustler Turf Equipment, Exmark and Stihl. Special discounts and financing offers on equipment were also available.
Golf was followed by a catered lunch and drawings for prizes including Cat licensed merchandise and apparel.
