Dave Hunter

Dave Hunter retired as southeastern regional manager of Sany America on Sept. 30 after serving the company for six years.

“Although I really enjoyed working for Sany America, I felt like it was just the right time,” said Hunter. “My life has been truly enriched during my time at Sany…If I hadn't gone to work with Sany America I would have never met, much less become lifelong friends, with so many people.”

Hunter is probably best known for his 35 years at Michell Distributing, the Komatsu and Ingersoll-Rand dealer in the Carolinas and Virginia, where his final position was executive vice president. He also held positions at both North and South Carolina AEDs, and served many years on the board of the South Carolina Mining Association. He also did consulting work and personal effectiveness seminars, which he continued after his “first retirement.”

Hunter says that, after this “second retirement,” he may continue that work on more of a part time basis.

“My job has always been to make other people successful. If you had asked me thirty years ago what my job was I would have given you the same answer.”
