Doosan Infracore has purchased Moxy Engineering.
A statement released Aug. 22 confirmed the $81 million deal, which had first been reported by Korean media a few days earlier.
“Moxy’s respected line of articulated dump trucks will add another component to Doosan Infracore America’s reputation as an innovator pushing the envelope to design the next-generation heavy construction equipment,” the statement reads.
Doosan said the acquisition, which is expected to be finalized by the end of the year, is part of its North American growth, which includes new dealerships and larger sales and field training staffs.
Doosan did not release details about branding, sales or marketing for the Moxy line, but promised to do so “in the coming weeks.”
The Norway-based Moxy has manufactured articulated haulers for approximately 30 years.
According to Moxy’s Web site, it had been owned most recently by the Thompson Group, an English engineering company, since 2003. Its American division, Moxy Trucks of America, is based in Cincinnati, Ohio. CEG Staff
