With the introduction of the new G325 mobile generator, Doosan Portable Power brings to market the first in a series of new models that meet EPA Tier IV Interim emissions standards. In addition to meeting the challenging emissions requirements, the G325 has numerous features that offer high performance and value — lower noise levels, easy-to-use controls, versatile connection options and extended runtime.

Doosan Portable Power addresses the increased heat generated by the Tier IV Interim engine and meeting customer demands for reduced noise levels and water ingression. The G325 has separate compartments for the cooling system and the powertrain, allowing better control of airflow through the package. A high-efficiency radial cooling fan ensures optimum cooling system performance, even in the highest ambient temperatures, while powertrain compartment cooling is managed by dual electric fans. This new, design lowers noise levels, virtually eliminates rainwater ingression and improves fuel economy by 7 percent — while providing 12 percent more power output than the previous generation, according to the manufacturer.

The G325 generator is powered by an EPA Tier IV Interim-compliant Cummins QSL9 engine. The QSL9 achieves low emissions standards by using cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) with an integrated Cummins particulate filter exhaust aftertreatment system. The 9-L engine incorporates a high-pressure fuel injection system, providing cleaner combustion and improved engine response. Performance is further enhanced by a Cummins variable geometry turbocharger (VGT), which continuously varies the air-flow boost to precisely match engine rpm and load demands.

Whether powering a construction site or special event, the new mobile generator control system has been completely redesigned to make operation even easier. Versatile connections with oversized terminals accept bare wire or lugged cable connections. Standard convenience receptacles and an optional cam-lock panel further expand connection options to ensure easy operation.

Simple start/stop controls, along with easy-to-read analog gauges and diagnostic indicator lamps help monitor performance and potential problems at a glance. Voltage selection is made easy with a three-position voltage switch mounted directly on the control panel. A safety mechanism has been included to prevent an accidental switch in voltage during operation — a common error that leads to costly damage and downtime, according to the manufacturer.

For reliable towing, the mobile generator comes equipped with a running gear system. Heavy-duty axles, fenders and drawbars mount directly to the skid base to lower the center of gravity for a durable and dependable highway transport experience.
