DuraClass Sidewinder dump bodies operate as standard dump bodies in all seasons and provide a solution for spreading material during the winter months. Two models are available for an ideal fit to any application.

The 5 to 14 cu. yd. (3.8 to 10.7 cu m) capacity Sidewinder dump body is able to spread sand or salt up to 25 ft. (7.6 m), the width of two full traffic lanes, with continuous feed from the dump body. The unit features COR-TEN steel, a heavy-duty box braced tailgate, full depth corner posts with additional support added to the right rear post and continuous 100 percent welding on the body. The body sidewall is shaped into a continuous top rail, side and running board configuration, eliminating the outside seam weld below the top rail, preventing moisture and freeze problems.

The Sidewinder features an adjustable discharge chute, which positions material on the spinner for varied spreading patterns and concentrations. The understructure is a stacked structural steel design with channel crossmembers and I-beam long members. A front mounted inverted telescopic hoist with hard chrome plated sleeves eliminates the need for a cylinder housing inside of the body, and minimizes cylinder contamination. Material is moved over a two strand, open pintle chain conveyor. A 3/16 in. (.5 cm) COR-TEN conveyor chain cover with stainless steel hinge will protect the conveyor during summer use.

Many ultra high-tensile, stainless and corrosion resistant steel options are available. Other options available are a spinner baffle kit, tailgate chutes for sand or salt to control material flow, summer chute, removable conveyor, greased chain adjusters, and four section body screens. DuraClass manufactures a variety of accessories for the Sidewinder, including patch gates, cab shield, ladders, LED lights, spill apron, and tarp rods and walk rails.

The 3 to 4 cu. yd. (2.3 to 3 cu m) Sidewinder Jr. is designed for medium duty truck applications and complements the larger 5 to 14 cu. yd. capacity Sidewinder dump body. With its compact size, the Sidewinder Jr. increases maneuverability on narrow roads and in metropolitan areas, while minimizing clearance concerns. Material is delivered to the front of the truck’s tires through a conveyor system, providing added traction.

Based out of Tishomingo, Miss., DuraClass designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of premium Class 3 to 8 dump bodies, hoists and related equipment.
