One in four children in the Arkansas River Valley do not have enough to eat.
This issue becomes especially critical during the summer months when school meals are not available. To help, Engineered Rigging has announced a philanthropic partnership with River Valley Food 4 Kids (RVF4K). During its annual Heavy Lifting Equipment Showcase on June 10-12 at 300 Industrial Boulevard in Russellville, Ark., Engineered Rigging will host a fundraising drive for the nonprofit's Summer Food 4 Kids Program.
The summer food initiative provides at least two meals and two snacks daily for each child, and the nonprofit expects to feed up to 1,200 children weekly throughout Russellville, Atkins, Dardanelle, Danville, Dover, Hector and Johnson County. The cost to sponsor a child is just $7.50 for a week or $75 for the 10-week program.
During the three-day event, members of the community are invited to drop off monetary donations between 8:00 a.m. — 3:00 p.m. Contributions also can be made online at https://givebutter.com/RVF4KSummer25. All donations for the summer food program will be presented to RVF4K on June 12 at Engineered Rigging's facility.
The community is invited to attend the presentation as well as view live demonstrations of its hydraulic heavily lifting and specialized transport technologies from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more details, or to register for the event, please visit https://engineeredrigginggroup.com/equipment-showcase/.
"Summer should be a time for fun, not hunger," said RVF4K Executive Director Leslie Walton. "Thanks to Engineered Rigging's generous partnership, we can reach even more kids this summer and ensure no child goes without the food they need to thrive. This kind of community support is what makes our mission possible."
"River Valley Food 4 Kids is fulfilling a tremendous need in our community," said Christopher Cox, president of Engineered Rigging. "We welcome this opportunity to partner with them to give hunger a summer break."
