Construction Equipment Guide

Snorkel is re-launching its popular 12 ft. (3.6 m) vertical mast lift, with some new enhancements.

Launched in the mid-1990s, the UpRight TM12 was the original self-propelled telescopic mast lift. Following the UpRight brand’s consolidation into Snorkel last year, the machine has been updated. The new version will be marketed as the Snorkel M1230E: M = mast lift; 12 = working height in feet; 30 = width in inches; E = electric.

The Snorkel M1230E can be driven through standard doorways and carried in passenger elevators — yet will still lift two people with tools to a safe platform height of 12 ft. (3.7 m). The robust reverse concentric mast design gives the M1230E its lift capacity of 500 lbs. (227 kg) and an extremely stable work platform, even when fully elevated. The M1230E is used in a wide range of applications, from construction and maintenance to stock-picking.

The new version has been upgraded with twin saloon-style entry gates and a flat steel deck floor with high grip tape, which prevents any misplaced screws or other small items falling into the machine’s works. It retains the all-steel, “rental-tough” construction that has made the TM12 popular with equipment rental companies for more than a decade, according to the manufacturer.

It features the same control system that was introduced last year into Snorkel’s S Series slab scissor lifts, providing smooth proportional controls and easy-to-use diagnostics for troubleshooting. For the first time, the M1230E is now also available with an optional deck extension and a variable height, front-mounted stock picker tray.
