A two day public 'disposal auction' that includes 130 cranes (from 220 ton down to 35 ton All Terrain and City cranes) plus more than 500 significant lots of general construction equipment from the administration of Hewden Stuart Ltd will be sold by Euro Auctions at the Newark Showground in Nottinghamshire at the request of the administrators at Ernst & Young on Thursday 02 /Friday 03 March.

“This will be the single largest collection of used mobile cranes ever assembled for sale in one place, anywhere in world,” stated Jonnie Keys, Operations Manager for Euro Auctions, Europe's largest auctioneers of industrial plant, construction machinery and agricultural equipment. “Phenomenal interest is being generated by this auction within the industry from right around the globe as all the cranes have been maintained in A1 condition and many have exceptionally low hours and come with some manufacturers' warrantee.”

The 130 cranes are all scheduled to go under the hammer at the Newark auction on Friday 03 March with the sale of over 500 lots of low hours construction equipment and machinery from the Hewden Portchester and Dagenham depots taking place the day before.

Topping the list of items being auctioned on day two are two 220 Ton all terrain Tadano cranes only registered in 2016 which feature a 68m main boom, an 11.1m boom extension, and a 76m maximum lift height. Then there are 23 other 100+ Ton cranes most of which are low hours, only a few years old and offer various radius and maximum lift heights. Below this are 57 cranes in the 50-100 Ton bracket and 45+ units in the versatile and highly sort after 30-50 Ton general purpose category. The crane sale will include a host of accessories, such as ballast, test weights, slings, mats, chains and shackles.

“The quality of all the cranes and the range of models on offer are captivating prospective buyers and from the previous Hewden disposal sales that Euro Auctions has already conducted we know there will be massive interest in this inventory,” continued Jonnie Keys. “The combination of an exceptional fleet of equipment, targeted marketing to our global network, and our reputation for fair and transparent auctions will ensure there is a good crowd in attendance on the day with many more closely following the sale online. We are beginning to register interest from bidders from every continent, including the biggest crane buyers in the industry and bidder interest is already brisk. This will be the biggest sale in crane history.”

Euro Auctions was appointed by S.J. Woodward and C.P. Dempster of Ernst & Young LLP, the Joint Administrators, to dispose of the cranes and general construction equipment assets of HS Realisations Ltd (previously known as Hewden Stuart Ltd) the hire company that entered administration on 22nd November 2016.
