Construction Equipment Guide

The design and capacity of Extec’s X38 SBS have been specifically adapted to the aggregate producers’ real requirements, and to fully complement, and strengthen, Extec’s existing crusher portfolio.

The X38 SBS makes use of the technology found on its larger brother, the X44 SBS, but is now based around the Telsmith 38SBS cone unit.

The cone unit possesses a crushing speed of up to 780 rpm, and this smaller size enables a compact frame design, while still providing strength and productivity, that are essential for worldwide quarry applications.

The X38’s power source is provided by a CAT C-9 Diesel engine, with a 350 hp (261 kW) performance, enabling a constant and reliable drive. With this power at its disposal, even the toughest materials can be processed effectively, according to the manufacturer.

The X38’s compact form enables its operation in even the most constrained of environments, and full mobility is ensured via its rugged tracks, and optional transport bogie.

The X38, like the X44, comes with an optional recirculation system to ensure that the end products are of consistent nature. The use of recirculation system, together with a metal detector in the feed hopper, ensures that crushing efficiency is maximized without the need for further crushing stages, while the intelligent machine control enables the combination of up to seven Extec machines in one operation.

The materials the X38 has been designed to crush include granite, slate, coal and limestone.
