Facebook announced Dec. 12 that it will build two additional data centers on its Prineville, Ore. Campus. According to the city of Prineville, Facebook recently signed an agreement for property tax exemptions for the new buildings. The company has benefitted from similar agreements in the past, which have totaled savings of more than $70 million.

Building the 970,000-sq.-ft facilities will mean jobs for hundreds of construction workers.

According to Prineville City Manager Steve Forrester, city has put a lot of time into improving its infrastructure to help attract big industry. Now, with the presence of tech giants like Facebook and Apple, the work has been a success.
