Five Star Equipment, headquartered in Dunmore, Pa., is now an OEM dealer of Topcon Grade Control technology for John Deere crawler dozers and motorgraders. Customers are now able to purchase or rent John Deere machines with Topcon 2D Laser and 3D GPS systems directly from their local Five Star Equipment branch.

Five Star's dedication to its grade control customers is evident with the company's creation of a Grade Control Technology Team. This team is comprised of Grade Control Specialist Charles Roberts, Williamsport, Pa.; Territory Sales Manager Budd Greevy; and Rochester, N.Y., Service Technicians Sam Cipriano and Charlie Pragle.

“Creating this Grade Control Technology Team shows our customers how serious we are about providing this technology to them on a purchase or rent basis. Charles, Sam and Charlie have been factory-trained to provide our customers with top notch support before, during and after the sale. Budd is one of the most experienced salesmen for this technology in the region,” said Tim Higley, Five Star Equipment's director, corporate sales and marketing. “Topcon is a leader in the grade control industry and we are proud to partner with them. We have units available now to rent for the busy summer and fall grade seasons.”

“We look forward to working with Five Star Equipment to bring the industry-leading technology to its customers. Contractors of all sizes and applications use Topcon products in all stages of their jobs,” said Joel Frost Topcon's North America sales manager, East Region.

Being a Topcon OEM dealer provides numerous benefits to Five Star Equipment's customers, including improved customer service and product support. Utilizing Grade Control technology provides significant savings for Five Star's customers performing site development construction services. Savings will be reflected in the more efficient use of the equipment, meaning less fuel is consumed; as well as more accurate orders of materials such as stone and asphalt, which means a significant savings on site costs, according to the company.

“With the rapid advancement in technology, increasing material and equipment costs, Grade Control technology is becoming an essential part of the site construction industry, and is important to the business strategy of many of our customers,” said Higley.

Topcon's Grade Control systems are available through all eight of Five Star Equipment's locations: Dunmore, Athens, Williamsport and Waterford, Pa.; and Kirkwood, Orchard Park, Rochester and Syracuse, N.Y.

For more than 35 years, Five Star Equipment has supplied the construction and forestry industries with top-quality equipment and service. The company sells, rents and services John Deere, Hitachi and Bomag — just to name a few.
