With less than a year under its belt, Atlantic Pipe Services, a trenchless underground utilities contractor based in Sanford, Fla., needs to maximize efficiency as much as possible.

That's why the company recently purchased a Vacall Recycler truck from Great Southern Equipment (GSE).

Currently, the company offers residential, commercial and municipal services, including cleaning and televising, internal pipe repairs, pressure grouting and laser profiling on storm and sewer systems.

Most recently, during Hurricane Irma, lift stations were not up and running due to power outages, so Atlantic Pipe Services was preventing back-ups in various sewer systems with the new Vacall truck.

Another part of Atlantic Pipe Services' portfolio is hydro excavating along with cleaning of large diameter storm pipes.

Enter the Vacall Recycler truck.

The new technology allows Atlantic Pipe Services to reuse the water vacuumed out of the pipe lines, run it through a five-step filtering process and continue to use the same water for cleaning or hydro excavating.

The company is the first in the Central Florida area to have this technology.

Allan Cagle, president of Atlantic Pipe Services, said that the new truck will allow the company to "go green" saving water, but also will allow the company to operate more efficiently.

Instead of stopping to refill the truck with water and decant the debris tank, crews can keep working, which Cagle estimates will save two to three hours per day for the client.

Primarily, the new truck will be used on the company's storm and sewer projects.

Cagle researched several dealers for the purchase, but landed on Great Southern Equipment due to the company's coverage throughout the state of Florida. Each branch location has a team of mechanics available for all of Atlantic Pipe Services' maintenance and service needs.

"Jared Wilson and Tommy Marks [of Great Southern Equipment] are always available to answer my questions and help him out with anything that might come up," said Cagle. "Support from GSE has been tremendous and they have bent over backwards and have been so helpful and beneficial to us. No matter what piece of equipment you buy, you will need support. Downtime for me equals money and GSE has my back with any service needs for the Vacall Recycler."

Wilson said the relationship is mutually beneficial.

"This was GSE's first Vacall Recycler sale in the state of Florida. I feel this experience with Atlantic Pipe Services will lead to more sales in the state of Florida."
