Mike Held, corporate marketing director of Foley Inc., Caterpillar Dealer in North Jersey and Staten Island, recently announced the promotion of Joe Dugan as the next 6 Sigma Black Belt.

Dugan began his career at Foley in 1987 as field service dispatcher. Since then, he has held several cross-divisional positions of increasing responsibility, including service supervisor, shop manager and branch manager. His most recent position has been operations manager at the Foley Power Systems division, where he managed the service and parts area.

In his new position, Dugan will work alongside Carol Gudaitis, Foley’s first Black Belt, leading 6 Sigma projects to drive process improvements in order to eliminate redundancies and reduce defects. This will enable Foley to find new ways to improve quality, reliability and efficiency that will deliver greater customer value and satisfaction. Dugan will be responsible for developing project plans, implementing solutions and recruiting and training team members.
