Yancey Bros. Co. held an open house Nov. 13 at its Kennesaw, Ga., branch location.
A cool, but otherwise comfortable sunny day created a pleasant backdrop for customers, friends and family as they strolled around the grounds and facility checking out all that Yancey Bros. has to offer and more.
Caterpillar, Wacker-Neuson and Cimaf manufacturing representatives were on hand to tout their lines. Mauldin products made their first appearance at a Yancey open house. The Georgia dealer recently took on the Mauldin line and took the opportunity at its open house to introduce two Mauldin products in particular to its guests — the Mauldin 1750-C paver and the Mauldin M413XT maintainer. Also on display and drawing a lot of attention was the brand new Flexx-Right bucket by Hammersmith Manufacturing, which just went into production, recently.
For those looking for a “real” equipment operating experience Heath Hanna, product specialist of Yancey Bros., set up the Caterpillar M series motorgrader simulator. Yancey also provided its guests a chance to display their operating prowess. Two equipment rodeo events, the mini-excavator “pop-a-top,” and a skid steer bowling course, offered quite a challenge for those who participated. Top finishers were:
Skid Steer Bowling
1st — Kelly Bagley
2nd — Derek Geldhauser of Archer Western
3rd — Kevin Kilmurry of Kilmurry Tree Service
Pop-A-Top Excavator
1st — Anthony Ridgeway of the city of College Park
2nd — Lamar Cain of Cain Contracting
3rd — Michael Touchet of MT Contractors
And for those who worked up an appetite, Yancey Bros provided guests with a complementary lunch catered by Williamson Bros. Barbeque, which is always a crowd favorite in North Georgia.
