It’s only been a few months since Kuhn Equipment Sales Company brought on the full-line of Rubble Master equipment but there’s already talk of moving this business relationship to the next level.

Representatives from the Austrian company have said they wanted to take steps to make Kuhn Equipment a “competent center,” which means it would be a place dealers in a specific area would turn with technical issues they are not able to overcome.

Sales Representative Mike Bernard, who was brought on early this year along with the Rubble Master line, said the designation would require additional training for Kuhn’s three Rubble Master-certified mechanics that would likely take them to the company’s headquarters.

Bernard said the Rubble Master crushers are secondary crushers, meaning they create a finished product. The machines are smaller than most other crushers typically seen in quarries.

The RM60, a 26,000-lb. machine, can fit on a roll-off truck, Bernard said. Even though it’s small, the RM60 can still produce 88 tons of material per hour.

The larger version, the RM80, weighs 50,000 lbs. and can produce up to 165 tons per hour.

The RM80 sits on tracks and, with remote control operation, “you can literally drive this machine around,” Bernard said.

The Rubble Master line also includes prescreeners and post-screeners.

These products have proved attractive to contractors working on smaller jobs looking to boost their profitability.

Located in Summerville, SC, since 2001, Kuhn Equipment first opened in 1974. It recently completed the construction of a storage building on the 3.5-acre property to house the stock of attachments.

In addition to Rubble Master, Kuhn Equipment also represents Genesis and Dynapac and also sells used equipment.

It has 14 employees, seven of whom are based in the shop. CEG STAFF
